South African Coaches Promote Cricket In Kenya

Three cricket coaches from South Africa have travelled to Nairobi, Kenya, in order to promote the sport across the East Africa region.

Their trip follows an agreement between the Gary Kirsten Cricket Academy (GKCA) in South Africa and Kenya’s Star Field Sports. Coaching sessions are expected to take place between April 6 and 12 and will include a two-day coach education workshop.

The coaches are Ryan Cook, assistant coach of Bangladesh national cricket team and head coach of GKCA, Jimmy Cook, former South African national team player, and Garreth van Hoesslin, director of coaching at GKCA.

Gary Kirsten is a famous name among cricket fans having coached India’s national team to World Cup victory in 2011 after years representing South Africa as an opening batsman.
