Court Orders Arrest Of Lupita Nyong’o’s Dad, Aunt

Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o and father to Lupita Nyong’o faces arrest after a warrant was issued for both him and his sister Risper Nyagoy for contempt of court. 

The pair have been committed to civil jail for one month by High Court Justice Tripsisa Cherere. 

The case concerns a family row regarding the inheritance of their father’s estate. Having been ordered to submit books of account of the estate to the court last year they failed to do so.

For event month they fail to submit the books of account they will be fined a further Sh50,000 on top of the Sh400,000 they have been fined for contempt of court.
