Kipchoge Announces Sub 2-Hour Marathon Attempt
Following his recent success at the London marathon, Kipchoge has announced that he is planning an attempt to break the two-hour barrier for the distance.
With the details yet to be confirmed, Kipchoge indicated the attempt was likely to be part of a specially organised race, possibly in London later this year.
This would be the world marathon record holders second attempt, having previously recorded a time of two hours and 25 seconds.
Speaking on Twitter, Kipchoge wrote, “Two years ago in Monza, the world got to 26 seconds from breaking the last milestone in athletics. This fall I want to break this barrier. Follow the journey on @INEOS159 as I attempt to rewrite history.”
