Kenyan Olympian Manager Receives Ban
The manager for Kenya’s 2016 Olympic games team, Michael Rotich, has been given a 10-year ban from involvement in athletics and issued with a fine and costs of around $19,000.
Rotich was found to have provided athletes and coaches with advanced information concerning planned drugs tests in exchange for payment. Judgement was passed by the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF), with the decision effective May 22.
Rotich can now choose to appear the ruling in the Court of Arbitration for Sport if he wishes.
He was also found to have violated the Code of Ethics.
