Rwanda Eyes Formula One Races
Rwanda is one of four African countries that have expressed interest in hosting a Formula One race, along with Morocco, South Africa and Nigeria.
Formula One is reported to be considering a return to the African continent, where Morocco and South Africa have hosted world championship grands prix in the past.
Speaking on Rwanda’s interest Formula One’s director of Strategy and Business Development Yath Gangakumaran is reported as telling Reuters, “I think Rwanda in particular have seen the benefits of the Arsenal sponsorship deal.”
“There’s a lot of interest not just for races but for actuations throughout the continent,” he added.
