Kenya Names 2019 AFCON Squad

Kenya’s Harambee Stars coach Sebastian Migne has announced the provisional 30-man squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nation (AFCON) tournament due to kick off in Egypt next month.

Harambee Stars are set to face Senegal, Algeria and Tanzania during the group stage of the tournament, having been drawn into Group C.

The team plans to train in Paris for three weeks, where they will face Madagascar and Gambia in friendlies, before travelling to Cairo on June 18.

Meanwhile, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has pledged to reward the team with Sh20 million if they can make it through to the quarterfinals. Sonko said he would pay for the reward either by selling one of his beach plots or taking a loan against it.
