Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk Named PFA Player of the Year
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has been named the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Player of the Year for 2019.
His teammate, Senegalese player Sadio Mane was also among those included on the shortlist. Both Mane and Van Dijk have been named as part of the PFA’s Premier League Team of the Year, along with Ederson Morales (Manchester City), Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Aymeric Laporte (Manchester City), Andrew Robertson (Liverpool), Paul Pogba (Manchester United), Fernandinho (Manchester City), Bernardo Silva (Machester City), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City) and Sergio Aguero (Manchester City).
The PFA Awards will be held in London on Sunday.
