Mail Lift Under-20 Trophy

Mali has won the 2019 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations, which concluded this Sunday in Niger.

The final saw Mali take on Senegal in a close contest that resulted in a 1-1 scorecard at full-time. Mali’s Boubacar Traore scored in the 16th minute, with Senegal’s Amadou Ndiaye equalising in the 75th minute. The match ended with a 3-2 victory for Mali on penalties.

The two teams previously met during the opening Group B match, when Senegal beat Mali 2-0.

Senegal, along with runners up South Africa and Nigeria, all qualify for the Under-20 World Cup in Poland this May, along with the Malian team.
