Kenya’s Kiptanui Triumps in Barcelone Half Marathon

Kenyan runner Eric Kiptanui emerged the winner of this weekend’s half marathon in Barcelona. Participating alongside fellow countrymen Jonathan Korir and Meshack Koech, Kiptanui completed the course in 1:01:44. 

Kiptanu was able to take over Ethiopian pair Abebe Degefa and Betesfa Getahun in the final minutes. Degefa took second place and Getahun third.

Meanwhile, in the women’s race Ethiopia’s Roza Dereje took the day, completing the course in 1:06:01. Fellow Ethiopian Dibabe Kuma took second place, with Kenya’s Sally Chepyego finishing third.
