Uganda Hosts Commonwealth Anti-Corruption Conference
The Government of Uganda is hosting the 9th Commonwealth Africa Anti-Corruption Conference, with officials meeting in Kampala between May 6 and 11 to discuss ways of dealing with corruption.
The theme for the event is “Time to Act: Prevent Corruption for Sustainable Development”, with more than 40 participants expected.
Speaking on the event, Inspector General of Government Justice Irene Mulyagonja stated, "We hope that the sharing of experiences across African institutions that are charged with fighting corruption will enhance the process of the IG through learning from the successes of others in this complicated field."
Ms Mulyagonja’s team is currently under investigation by a rival unit formed within the office of the Presidency last year.
