Pope To Visit Cyclone And Flood Affected Region

Pope Francis will later this year visit Mozambique, Madagascar and Mauritius, which were recently hit by floods and a cyclone that killed hundreds. He is expected to travel to Maputo, Antananarivo and Port Louis during September. No further details regarding his programme have been announced as of yet.

It will be the first visit by the Pope to Mozambique since 1988. The President of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, visited the Pope during a trip to the Vatican last year.
