Ugandan Economy Set To Grow

The Ministry of Finance in Uganda says that it expects the economy to grow to Shs110.024 trillion by the end of the financial year as a result of increased economic activity.

According to finance state minister in charge of General Duties Dr Gabriel Ajedra Aridru "The economy is expected to grow faster than projected. As a result, GDP growth for the 2018/19 financial year has been revised to 6.3 per cent from 6.0 per cent."

As Dr Ajedra launched the National Budget Month for next year he described the main drivers of the economy as the manufacturing sector along with recovery in the construction, agriculture and services sectors, and investment in infrastructure. 

The minister also stated that revenue collection was up.
