Manchester United’s Young to move to Inter Milan in the summer
Serie A side Inter Milan have reached an agreement with Manchester United’s captain, Ashley Young, that will see the defender move to Italy on a free after his contract expires this summer.
Young, 34, could still leave during the current January window, but because his contract is up at the end of the season, he is free to talk with clubs outside England.
The fullback moved to Manchester from Birmingham side Aston Villa in 2011, and has since gone on to play 261 times, winning the Premier League, FA Cup and EFL in that time.
After United lost 3-1 to rivals Manchester City in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, which Young was left out of, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said “it was not the right time” to discuss the players future at the club.
He further added “We can’t weaken ourselves; we need to strengthen ourselves, if any movement is going to happen”.
