CAF Names AFCON 2019 Delegation

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named its delegation for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals scheduled to take place in Egypt starting later this month.

The delegation consists of 204 members and will be led by CAF President Ahmad Ahmad. 

Included within the delegation are Rwanda’s Jean Bosco Kazura, former president of the Rwanda Football Association, Celestin Musabyimana and Kelly Anastasie Mukandanga. Meanwhile Kenya will be represented by Collins Okinyo and Uganda by Dixel Adol “Bond” Okello, sports journalist Andrew Jackson Oryada, events manager Leilah Nankya, and FUFA President Moses Magogo.

The tournament is expected to kick off on 21 June and run until 19 July and will see 24 national teams from across the continent compete for the top prize of US$4.5 million. Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania have all qualified for the group stages along with Burundi, which will make its debut at the finals.
