Fifa Bans Tanzanian Ref For Life

Tanzanian referee Oden Charles Mbaga has received a life ban from Fifa for breaching the organization’s code of ethics. 

According to reports from Reuters Fifa has indicated that the ban relates to bribes "to manipulate several national and international matches between 2009 – 2012." 

The case was opened in July 2018 but Mbaga claims that the last time he discussed the issue with the federation was back in 2010. He has also been fined $200,000.

Mbaga’s ban follows that issued to Nigerien referee Ibrahim Chaibou last month.
