Hundreds of striking Kenyan doctors sacked

The authorities in Kenya's coastal county of Mombasa have sacked hundreds of striking doctors including the head of the doctors' union in the county.

The purge affected 86 doctors, according to reports, bringing the total of sacked doctors to 514, the Daily Nation newspaper adds.

Kenyan doctors went on strike over poor remuneration and working conditions.

They want to be issued with protective gear as they handle Covid-19 patients.
