Kenya sees coronavirus total rise to seven
The Kenyan Health Ministry today confirmed three more people have tested positive for the coronavirus, COVID-19, bringing the total number in the country to seven.
Health Minister Mutahi Kagwe said all those that had recently contracted the virus had returned from abroad.
A couple returning from Spain’s capital, Madrid, via Dubai, are the latest to test positive.
The third, a Burundian national who also travelled through Dubai, arrived at Nairobi airport on 17 March with a high temperature, before being quarantined by authorities.
Mr Kagwe said officials were now tracing all those that came into contact with any of the three so they can also be tested.
Last week the government put a stop to all foreign nationals entering the country, except Kenyan nationals, diplomats and those with valid residency permits.
