DP’s Pilot, 4 Tourists Dead After Chopper Crash
A helicopter crash in north-west Turkana Country, Kenya, this weekend has resulted in the death of four American tourists and the pilot, Captain Mario Magonga.
Magonga was pilot to Deputy President William Ruto. According to his cousin legislator Richard Onyonka, Magonga was one of the best helicopter pilots, having been cleared to fly a number of high-profile individuals including former US President Barack Obama.
A police statement on the incident reads: “Security personnel dispatched to the scene confirmed that among the five were four Americans and the Kenyan pilot… The cause of the incident is yet to be established and the details of the deceased will be released once the next of kin have been notified.”
