Rwanda Launches Kinshasa Flight Route

National airline RwandAir has announced the launch of a direct flight to Kinshasa following a deal signed by the two countries this week.

Rwandan government officials met with recently elected DRC President Felix Tshisekedi to discuss the bilateral service air agreement that will permit RwandAir to fly direct from Kigali International Airport to the DRC capital, Kinshasa.

A launch date for the route is yet to be release. However, the route is expected to be economically significant with DRC a major destination for Rwanda’s informal export market.

RwandAir already covers 26 destinations globally and has recently also committed to routes to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Guanngzhou in China and Tel Aviv in Israel.
