Rwanda Seeks to Boost Middle Eastern Tourist Visits

Rwanda is today participating at the International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM2019) in Tel Aviv, Israel, with a view to boosting the number of Middle Eastern tourists visiting the country.

Officials from the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), the Rwandan Embassy in Israel and Rwandan tour operators will be among those to represent the country at the Visit Rwandan pavilion.

Speaking on the event Acting Head of Tourism and Conservations for the RDB Eugene Mutangana stated, "RDB's participation at this show for the first time gives an opportunity to reach the most widely travelled group of people in Mediterranean region. In addition to meetings with key travel businesses, we will have a seminar with 70 tour operators to promote Rwanda as the premier business and tourism destination in Africa and build awareness of Rwanda's diverse range of unique experiences, for both leisure and business travel."

Rwandan airline RwandAir has been reported as considering the launch of a Tel Aviv route in the coming months.
